The Grand Central Market has offered Los Angeles’ food lovers a feast of sights, tastes, and smells for generations.
When it first opened in 1917, well-to-do Angelenos plunked down a penny to ride the Angels Flight Railway down to the
best open-air shopping in town. And even today, there is no other marketplace in the city that captures the diversity of
California's gastronomic and cultural cornucopia.
Aisles and aisles of hand-picked fruits and vegetables, exotic herbs and spices, fragrant fresh-cut flowers, fish, poultry,
confections and nuts, divide the interior of the meticulously restored Homer Laughlin Building. Food stalls serve up
hard-to-resist delicacies and tasty treats: Cuban sandwiches, succulent fish tacos, towering ice-cream cones, and an
array of other unimaginable delightsE all for the trying.
Location: 317 South Broadway
Hours: Monday-Saturday: 9am-6pm Sunday: 10am-5:30pm
